LONDON BEATS

Walking in the street of this amazing city that never stops to surprise me...
Multiethnic variety of life style is the fertile ground for art and fashion, freedom, no limits, open my view at 360 degree, my mind is working for 24 hours. I cannot stop to look around me, my attention is kept from thousand things, colours, details styles art people add on the wall, for everything I notice born a new idea, inspiration is all over around me, too many message in this city that constantly runs and never stops.
What is Fashion, how everything works?
It is not just about catwalk, brands, designer and expansive stuff, but is something deeper, Fashion in the sky, is art, music, is what we live, feel and need every day, it is a way to express and relate yourself to others.
London is like food, ground, for fashion where new idea born, new trends generate from normal simple people, that likes to express their self in different ways. Without this we could not have fashion....what about designer? Who are they? Sensible people that try to surprise you every season, and that dictates laws about what to wear, and how to play with your guard robe;
It is just a game a way to play and have fun and MIX and MATCH are the magic words!
What about Style? Oh that’s something that you can never buy, everyone has got his own proper style, but not everybody can be elegant smart and sophisticated, but you could try with some help to work on it.
But you really think somebody can tell you how to be? Yeah, everyone has got own personality, identity, everyone can be designer of himself, you can could follow the trends but then you know what is really you. Everyone should look forward...sometime the fashion make you wear something that you never thought about, just because everyone does or because you do not want to feel out of the society schemas?
Once the fashion roles where different, in the XVlll century the way how the fashion was changing was quite natural and funny, was something connecting to the class’s society, the pyramid ’s theory. The aristocrats used to have their own tailors working in their court, because they wanted to be exclusive, luxurious and unique, so the tailors where the artist, big fashion creator;
In the mean time the low society (the population) was looking at that, trying to copying cuts and styles, of course the fabric used were not so expansive, but everything was homemade. In that moment when the population was adopting it all, the fashion was changed in the courts...
After years of history and changes this tailors are became figures that we called designer and the fashion became a proper system, we have plenty of clothes and market of style, everybody could wear everything would like. times are changed and nowadays are the designer getting inspired from the population, especially in a big city like London......Since the end of the ’60 a different influential designer called Vivienne Westwood started to change a bit the rules, not anymore expansive and exclusive fabrics, but cheap and creative stuff, conceptual meaning coming from art and music were starting to influence the world of fashion creations, and from here that borne the anti fashion. Was not everything just about clothes, and superficiality but fashion starting to be more part of art and the anti fashion a different way to make fashion.
From now on the fashion starts to develop in a different way no anymore from top to bottom, but the opposite from bottom to top. From the street we start to get inspired to then launch the trends on then the catwalk. The big cities, where the people, or for necessity, fun, or just different lifestyles, create their own outfits, without be scared of the public opinions, are proud wear something different out of the regular canons that the fashion dictate. Are that people now to create always a new fashion, even if not always conscientious of that, there is always someone ready to catch and notice little things, details, and riel borate them, they are the inspiration for my fashion. This is the reason that my mind never stops to work...I get my inspiration when I am travelling, when I am clubbing when I am in a museum, when I go to Brick lane, from clothes ,habit, music, from friends and different people view.
I remember when I started to work in retail, for all the time that I did I tried to understand from a psychological point of view, what people that buy fashion expect and looking for and I noticed that everyone is looking for something different : someone looks just for brands name on their bags or on their tops, poor minded people, from my view a bit empty they look for themselves around them and not inside them, expecting that clothes could change their personality, some of them looks for original, different, worked, particular garments and some of them, open minded people looking for good quality garments. So I understood that not everybody buy the garment really for the value of itself.... beauty, quality o material!
It is just when you start to be knowledgeable and sophisticated that you start to consider the garment for what it is, and you start to think to all the work and philosophy that has been behind it, and in that moment it becomes something more than just a piece of fabric, knitwear o leather.
